LARISA ALAVERDYAN SAYS OUR POLICY IS AIMED AT REDUCING BIRTHRATE

I do not rule out that our policy is aimed at reducing birthrate in
Armenia, first Armenian Ombudsperson Larisa Alaverdyan told reporters
today.
We should mention that 22,743 boys were born in Armenia in 2012.
Ms Alaverdyan noted that in 1989, 4 million people lived in Armenia,
including refugees. According to the latest UN report, 2,800,000
people currently live in Armenia. "It can only be a result of policy,"
she said.
