Armenia will make active efforts to have the conflict over
Nagorno-Karabakh settled peacefully, parliamentary speaker Hovik
Abrahamian said.
"Azerbaijan is leading the process to a deadlock by its militant
rhetoric, and this is why there is no progress. Nevertheless, the
Armenian authorities are determined and will make every effort to
resolve the problem peacefully," Abrahamian said at a meeting with
PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon.
Armenia considers the resolution of the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh
only through negotiations within the OSCE Minsk Group and based on
principles of self-determination of nations, territorial integrity,
and non-use of force, Abrahamian said.
Mignon noted that the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh can be settled only
within the OSCE Minsk Group, through peaceful negotiations and based
on the Madrid Principles.
Mignon is visiting Armenia within the framework of meetings of the
PACE Bureau and Standing Committee in Yerevan.
