ARMENIA TOOL FOR INTERNATIONAL CENTERS OF POWER - MP

Aram Manukyan, an MP from the Armenian National Congress (ANC) party,
believes that Armenia is a tool international forces - NATO, Russia,
the European Union (EU) and the United States (US) - are seeking
to use.
All the "centers of power" benefit from weak and vulnerable authorities
which can be ordered. "In this context, the international structures
in question are going to support President Serzh Sargsyan because he
promised to resolve regional problems. A few days ago we witnessed
such an occurrence - the gas price rise," he said.
This was a political step rather than a logical one.
"Armenia promised Russia to do this," Manukyan said.
He said that the agreement on the gas price rise has been in effect
since April 1, 2013, but Armenia's authorities promised Russia
to announce the fact after the presidential and Yerevan municipal
elections.
"A foreign political entity is telling its will to Armenia's
authorities being aware of the rigged elections in the country,"
he said.
With respect to domestic political problems, Manukyan does not think
that Armenian citizens are face to face with their problems.
"We have numerous problems and I do not rule out society will one
day unite," he said.
"The streets are more important for us than the parliament. We will
never let the street potential be exhausted," Manukyan said as he
spoke of the ANC party.
