ARMENIAN MFA CLARIFIED TO PACE REPRESENTATIVE WHICH COUNTRY VIOLATES PRINCIPLES OF OSCE MINSK GROUP

YEREVAN, MAY 31, ARMENPRESS: Armenia does everything it can to
register a progress in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict peaceful
settlement issue. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs
of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan, answering the question
of the representative of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of
Europe, what compromise Armenia is ready to make to achieve peaceful
settlement of the Karabakh conflict issue.
As reported by Armenpress, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward
Nalbandyan reminded that Armenia has declared for so many times that
it is ready to take the direction of the settlement of the conflict
issue, suggested by the three OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
"But we do not see that Azerbaijan has the same position", - stated
Edward Nalbandyan.
Armenia accepts all the suggestions made by the three OSCE Minsk
Group Co-Chairs and Azerbaijan refuses them. "We cannot do more than
we do. It will be better if Azerbaijan makes more serious steps
towards the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict issue",
- said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia
Edward Nalbandyan.
Since the PACE membership, the Republic of Armenia, on behalf of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the first time assumes the Presidency
of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers. Armenia will chair
the Committee for six months.
The session of the Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of
the Council of Europe, launched in Yerevan on May 31, is being held,
headed by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council
of Europe Jean-Claude Mignon.
