RUSSIAN SERVICEMAN DIES IN ROAD ACCIDENT IN ARMENIA

- A Russian serviceman from the Russian military base deployed in
Armenia died in a road accident in the city Gyumri in north-western
Armenia on Sunday evening, the Armenian Ministry of Emergency
Situations reported.
"Officer of the headquarters of the Russian military base, Senior
Lieutenant Atavin, died on the way to the hospital," the ministry
said in a news report posted on its website.
The road accident occurred near the former radio plant, when a BMW
car, in which he was driving, "skidded off the road and overturned
for unclear reasons." The demised serviceman was born in 1986.
The Russian military base is located in Armenia under the
Russian-Armenian interstate agreement concluded in 1995.
