The discussions of the tariffs for the natural gas and electric energy,
held by the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of
Armenia on June 7, are accompanied by a protest action.
The member of the civil initiative "Let's prevent increase of gas
tariff" Lusine Hovsepyan stated that they will continue struggling
against the increase in prices for the gas and energy.
The protesters failed the last session of the Public Services
Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia, when the Commission
was discussing the issue.
The Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia
has already completed the entire revision of the tariffs for the
natural gas and electric energy and in the result of the revision
process the PSRC finds it reasonable to fix 156 AMD as a new price
for 1 cubic meter of gas, VAT included.
Armrusgazard CJSC and Transgaz LLC applied to the Public Services
Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia, offering to raise the
current gas tariff from AMD 132,000 to AMD 221,000. It was suggested
to raise the present price for the gas from 132,000 AMD to 221,000
AMD for the users (subscribers), who consume up to 10,000 normal
cubic meter of gas monthly, VAT included.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan
sent an official letter to the Chairman of the Public Services
Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia Robert Nazaryan. In
accordance with the letter the Government of the Republic of Armenia
will subsidize the gas tariff for 30 percent. The Public Services
Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia has completed the
revision of the tariffs for the natural gas and electric energy.
