At least 15 places of drowned Armenian ships are known - expert

YEREVAN. - At least 15 places of drowned Armenian ships are known. It
would be wonderful to organize expeditions to all of these places in
order to try to find what is left of the Armenian vessels, Ayas Club
President Karen Balayan said in an interview with Armenian
News-NEWS.am.
`We would very much like to organize an expedition titled `Traces of
the lost ships',' he said.
However, the expert did name the specific places where Armenian vessels drowned.
`There are treasure hunters. I am not so much afraid that they will
find and plunder the drowned vessels, I fear that they would spoil the
reputation of a possible expedition,' Balayan noted.
According to him, the places of famous Armenian vessels in the waters
of India, China, the Philippines are known. There is evidence that
Armenian ships reached Acapulco in Mexico, he added.
