Armenia's Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan stated that today a strict
oversight is being implemented for everyone to carry out his military
duty.
`My two sons are serving in the army. Two sons of Chief of Armed
Forces General Staff Yuri Khachaturov are serving in two different
military units,' the minister said at a news conference in
Noyemberyan, asked why sons of officials do not serve in the army.
`I think that each male citizens of Armenia must serve in the army. It
is my approach,' he said.
Asked about female's service, Ohanyan said, many girls are currently
serving in different military units voluntarily.
`This year each girl may apply for entering military educational
establishments. We will create corresponding conditions for them,' he
said.
