Armenian delegation has left for the filmfair of Annecy international
animation festival

YEREVAN, JUNE 8, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian delegation has left for the
French city of Annecy on June 7 to take part in the fair of the
international animation festival to be held there on June 10-15. Like
in the previous year, Armenia will have its own pavilion. The
President of the animation studio of Robert Sahakyants Production
David Sahakyants reported to the Armenpress correspondent that there
are 4 representatives in the delegation. Robert Sahakyants Production
studio's films are not presented in the contest program. `This year
we will participate with Hayk Sahakyants' `Quantum jump' short film
with the expectation to present it to the European market', - said
David Sahakyants. All the potentials of 3D techniques were used in the
7-minute cartoon for the first time.
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival (Festival
International du Film d'Animation d'Annecy) was created in 1960 and
takes place at the beginning of June in the town of Annecy, France.
Initially occurring every two years, the festival became annual in
1998. It is one of the four international animated film festivals
sponsored by the Association d'International du Film d'Animation (or
ASIFA, the International Animated FilmAssociation). The Festival is
attended by 6-7 thousand animators and about 400 journalists from
different countries of the world.
The festival is a competition between cartoon films of various
techniques (animated drawings, cut out papers, modeling clay, etc.)
classified in the categories of Feature films, Short films,
Filmsproduced for television and advertising, Student films and Films
made for the internet.
