Sharmazanov: In Azerbaijan, freedom of press is utopia, while in
Armenia it is reality

Commenting on the recent remarks by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan,
the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman has said that the chasm
between the development of Azerbaijan and Armenia is huge.
Deputy Speaker of Armenian National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov has
responded to the Azerbaijani official's comment.
`Certainly, the chasm between the development of Azerbaijan and
Armenia is becoming deeper because Azerbaijan officially encourages
racism and xenophobia, while Armenia encourages tolerance. The
Azerbaijani authorities officially advocate war, while Armenia
advocates peace. In Azerbaijan, freedom of press is utopia, while in
Armenia it is a reality. Azerbaijan swiftly moves towards
dictatorship, with cult of personality playing pivotal role, while
political pluralism develops in Armenia.
Obviously, with such kind of `development,' Azerbaijan's fiasco is
inevitable,' said the Deputy Speaker.
