MONTSERRAT CABALLE GIVES CONCERT IN YEREVAN

The world famous Spanish operatic soprano Montserrat Caballe gave a
concert at Alexander Spendiarian Opera and Ballet Theatre in Yerevan
on June 9.
Cabbale's daughter Montserrat Marti, mezzo soprano Agostina Smimmero,
and baritone David Babayants performed along with Montserrat Caballe.
Conductor Ramon Tebar conducted the Armenian State Philharmonic
Orchestra whose artistic director and principal conductor is Edward
Topchian.
The house was full, with each performance being accompanied by
thunderous applause. At the concert's conclusion, Montserrat Caballe
sang two songs in Armenian.
