YEREVAN. - The attorney of Rusal-Armenal aluminum foil mill employees
Levon Baghdasaryan will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
According to him, for two years the government has not paid attention
to the fact that people working in hazardous job did not receive
extra payments.
"It turns out that the government will eventually pay a premium to
their pensions. But the employer refuses," he said.
He explained that many of the employees can not make an open statement,
as they will be fired.
"What would they tell their families then?" he said, calling to show
understanding for their position.
Baghdasaryan said the general court ruled in favor of the workers,
but the Court of Appeal overturned the verdict.
"We will appeal to the European Court of Justice and have no doubt
that we will win the case," he added, calling on Armenian PM Tigran
Sargsyan to consider complaints of plant employees and to bring to
justice those responsible for this situation.
