OPPOSITION ARMENIAN MP SPEAKS OF PREMIER'S 'REVELATION'

    22:15 ~U 19.06.13

Levon Zurabyan, Secretary of the Armenian National Congress (ANC)
parliamentary group, believes that Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran
Sargsyan has made "a serious revelation" by claiming the opposition
shares the responsibility for emigration from Armenia.

"By saying that, he admits that the authorities have failed. If the
opposition is the problem, it means that there are no authorities,
and the opposition must act as an alternative," Zurabyan told Tert.am.

Armenia's authorities are responsible for all the processes going on
    in Armenia.

"What have the authorities done for the institution of opposition in
    Armenia?" Zurabyan asks.

"Using violence police broke up rallies, fired at people and concealed
the crimes. The ANC voters were persecuted and many of them left
    Armenia," Zurabyan said.

"I admit they have some achievements due to forcing some sections
of the population to leave the country. Of course, we will get weak
if part of our electorate leaves the country. I admit we have become
weaker because of this violence and persecution," Zurabyan said.

As to the opposition forces' inability to unite even during elections,
he said that by voting in Armenia's parliament the opposition forces
    show their unity.

"You cannot make the opposition forces one political force. They have
    different ideological bases," Zurabyan said.
