Robert Beglaryan, an Armenian member of the Iranian parliament,
has congratulated Iran's new President Hassan Rohani and presented
a number of proposals, Tehran-based Armenian newspaper Alik reports.

According to the paper, on behalf of the Iranian-Armenian community
and other religious minorities, Beglaryan congratulated Hassan Rohani
on a deserved victory in the presidential election.

In his address to the newly elected President, Beglaryan made the
    following demands concerning Iranian-Armenians:

Increase of the role of women in the public political arena

Special and practical attention to youth problems

Moral and material support for cultural, educational, public and
    benevolent centers of religious minorities

To pursue the elimination of challenges faced by religious minorities
in state structures, particularly in the Ministry of Education

Certainly, there are scientific and professional cadres among the
religious minorities, who deserve being involved in high-level
governmental and administrative jobs, and serve as deputies or
advisers. This could meet a positive response in both domestic and
    international arena.

The Armenian member of Iranian parliament also remarked on the Turkish
denial of the Armenian Genocide: "Turkey is trying to conceal its own
history, which is one of the causes of its violence in the region and
in Syria. I express my deep appreciation to the Iranian authorities
who, under various circumstances, with their deep understanding of
the human and political aspects of the issue, have allowed holding
commemorative events and have made no hindrance to the voicing of
complaints as well as to information."
