Chief of Armenia's police Vladimir Gasparyan withholds comments on
the deadly incident in Goris.
"I think my messages from Gyumri reached everyone. But it is our
national peculiarity. I think our society and such people will,
in the course of time, reject it," General Gasparyan said.
He hopes Armenia will turn into a secure country if it rejects this
"national peculiarity."
Asked about "measures" in Goris similar to the "measures" in Gyumri,
General Gasparyan said: "We are taking measures throughout the
country. We present regular reports on all the incidents."
As regards the calls for punishment of Syunik Governor Surik
Khachatryan, General Gasparyan said: "The military prosecutor's office
is investigating the case. I think I would break ethical principles
if I made any assessments."
