UKRAINE MUST FOLLOW THE LEAD AND RECOGNIZE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE - AVAKOV

Ukraine must follow the lead of many other countries and recognize
the Armenian Genocide, Ukrainian MP Arsen Avakov said in an interview
with Kapital newspaper.
"I mean recognition of the Armenian Genocide in the territory of the
Ottoman Empire carried out by the government of the Young Turks in
1915-1920," he said.
In his turn, chairman of the Communist faction Pyotr Simonenko noted
that the UN has recognized the genocide long ago, Analitika.at.ua

A bill, with respect to recognizing the mass annihilation of the
Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, was registered in the Verkhovna Rada
(Supreme Council; i.e., the Parliament) of Ukraine on June 6
