BABKEN PIPOYAN: MANUFACTURERS AND AUTHORIZED STATE BODIES ARE TO BLAME FOR INCREASE IN DAIRY PRODUCTS PRICES

When unfounded increase in prices occurs in food market and the company
increasing the prices is not controlled by authorized state bodies,
other companies also increase the prices for their products, Babken
Pipoyan, head of Informed and Protected Consumer NGO, told today's
news conference, adding that dairy products prices have increased by
8-12% during the past month.
Manufacturers and authorized state bodies are to blame for the increase
in dairy products prices, he said.
The authorized state bodies include the State Commission for Protection
of Economic Competition, Ministry of Agriculture and State Food
Security Service.
The speaker added that the fields of food security and pricing need
legislative and public control.
