BYURAKAN OBSERVATORY TO BECOME ONE OF THE BEST IN THE WORLD

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Secretaries of National Security Councils of
Armenia and Russia Artur Baghdasaryan and Nikolay Patrushev discussed
the process of implementation of a number of joint programs in Yerevan
today.The sides particularly discussed the implementation of programs
in military, military-technical and security spheres, border security
as well as setting up an Armenian-Russian humanitarian center of
response in case of emergency situations, operation and modernization
of the observatory in Garni, the press service of the National Security
Council of Armenia reported. Later, Artur Baghdasaryan and Nikolay
Patrushev left for Gyumri to the 102nd Russian military base where
they met with the commanding staff of the border troops and 102nd
base.The Secretaries of the National Security Council visited the
Byurakan Observatory and got acquainted with the works carried out
there. Within the cooperation between the Armenian and Russian National
Security Councils, Byurakan Observatory will be fully modernized. The
program also envisages putting two modern telescopes into operation
which will become one of the best in the world. The observatory will
also be upgraded with 5 new telescopes made by "Project-Technique"
company.Owing to it, the Byurakan Observatory will be able to operate
fully and will take an important place in the international system
of research of cosmic garbage, starts and meteorites.
