ARTHUR BAGHDASARYAN STRESSES NEED TO STRENGTHEN ARMENIAN-RUSSIAN COOPERATION

Armenia is interested in the full establishment of CSTO and in the
increase of its role in various fields, Secretary of Armenian National
Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan said in his opening remarks at
the Yerevan-hosted forum on "Political and Security Guidelines for
the Formation of the Military Component of CSTO."
He hailed the holding of the forum and expressed the hope that it will
be a stable platform not only for the development of cooperation in
various fields but also for the establishment of prospects.
Mr Baghdasaryan highlighted the importance of measures aimed at
regional security, and stressed the need to strengthen comprehensive
cooperation.
"Russian-Armenian cooperation should be strengthened in our region,
and, in general, the organizational capabilities of CSTO should be
strengthened," he said.
New collective bodies need to be set up, first of all, in the aviation
field, the NSC Secretary concluded.
