DOES ALIYEV KNOW RUSSIA IS ARMING ARMENIA WITH HIS MONEY?
Russian political scientists working in Russian funds, which are paid
by Armenians, are actively lobbying Russian arms sales to Azerbaijan
and the rise in price of Russian gas to Armenia. For example, Alexander
Krylov said that by selling weapons to Azerbaijan for fabulous prices,
Russia delivers cheap weapons to Armenia at the expense of Baku.
Interesting, does Aliyev know that Russia is arming Armenia with his
money? It is found out that Moscow cheats Aliyev forcing him to pay
for himself and for others. Naïve Aliyev pays and does not know that
he maintains the parity in the region.
Russian political scientists representing funds that are paid by
Armenians give almost the same explanations to Azerbaijan which gets
indignant at the fact that Russia gives free weapons to Armenia.
Political scientists say - join CSTO you will have weapons too. And
Azeris think: why do we need to join CSTO, look Armenians joined it,
so what?
But all this seems a trifle against the expected transformations in
the region. Baku tomorrow will announce its long-awaited decision
about the pipeline route - whether it is "Western" or "Turkish".
Judging by Aliyev's his statements in Baku during a military parade,
the West promised to support Aliyev at the elections, and increase
pressure on Armenia in the Karabakh issue, if...
Perhaps, this was the reason of Serzh Sargsyan's nervous statements
in Poland where he accused the European Union of not forcing Turkey to
open the border with Armenia. Possibly, Serzh Sargsyan has again been
presented a precondition relating to Karabakh and he posed another
one relating to Turkey.
Of course, it is hard to understand what is happening in relations
between Armenia, Azerbaijan, the West and Russia. One thing is
evident that a tough bargaining of interests, territories and pipes is
underway. This multi-level bargaining involves a number of strategic
issues and Russia's sale of weapons to Azerbaijan against it is really
a small business.
Were Europeans able to convince Aliyev not to link energy issues with
Karabakh? What was Serzh Sargsyan proposed in exchange of commitment to
the European path - opening of borders with Turkey? What will Karabakh
destiny be if Armenia signs the Association Agreement with EU? Was
Aliyev "allowed" to launch a "small" war with the help of Russian
weapon to "liberate" 1-2 regions until November? Will the CSTO,
praised by Burdyuzha, defend Karabakh in case of aggression?
Russian political scientists paid by Armenians don't answer these
questions. Russia has always forced Armenians to pay for lobbying
anti-Armenian interests.
