AZERI PRESIDENT CALLS ON ARMED FORCES TO BE PREPARED TO LIBERATE LANDS OCCUPIED BY ARMENIA

    Interfax, Russia
    June 26 2013

The Azerbaijani armed forces should be prepared for operations
to liberate the land occupied by Armenia, Azeri President and
    Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev said.

"Azerbaijan is living in the state of war. The war is not over yet,
and only its first stage has ended. The Azerbaijani army should be
prepared at any moment to liberate the occupied lands," Aliyev said
in reviewing the troops at a military parade in Baku.

Aliyev regretted that the negotiations with Armenia to peacefully
resolve the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh have not produced the desired
result so far, and so Azerbaijan has to beef up its military power
    in these conditions.

Aliyev contented that not only Nagorno-Karabakh and areas around it
but also the contemporary territory of Armenia were originally Azeri
land. "The Azeri state and people will never allow the establishment
of another Armenian state on its land," he said.

The problem of the occupation of Azeri lands has remained unsettled for
a long time, and Armenia has committed ethnic cleansing and genocide
in Xocali during its military aggression against peaceful citizens
    of Azerbaijan, he said.

"We will try to resolve the conflict in a peaceful way as soon as
possible. The negotiations are continuing. But the military potential
    reinforces our positions," he said.

Azerbaijan does not have a problem more important than the occupation
of part of its territory today, but growing military power and economic
potential and Armenia's continued isolation from regional processes
will ultimately help resolve this issue as well, he said.

"I am sure we will soon attain what we want and will restore historical
    justice," he said.

Over 5,000 servicemen, about 300 latest military vehicles, over 100
planes and some 40 ships and boats took part in a military parade
marking the 95th anniversary of the establishment of Azerbaijan's
armed forces on Azadliq Square in Baku on Wednesday.
