Armenia's strategic ally, Russia, is selling up to $1 billion worth
of military equipment to Azerbaijan, the country that continually
threatens us; that is Russia is delivering Azerbaijan up to
$500 of weapons per capita in Armenia, Chairman of the National
Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan told reporters on June 28.
Hayrikyan is more concerned over Armenia's indifference towards
Russia's arms deal with Azerbaijan. He advises reviewing the history
of Armenia to see how much Armenia has suffered because of Russia's
imperialist policy.
"We have lost our historical memory. We are facing a serious threat,
but we remain silent, we do not protest, but much depends on us,"
said Mr Hayrikyan.
"Throughout my life, I have been warning against threats and showing
possible solutions. I do not suggest raising hysteria against Russia
but we must eventually sober up," he stressed.
Speaking about the January assassination attempt against him, Hayrikyan
reiterated that 'it was ordered by Imperialist Russia which was always
chasing him.'
