AZERI PRESIDENT ALIYEV'S WORDS ON KARABAKH INTENDED FOR HOME AUDIENCE - ARMENIAN DIPLOMAT

June 27 2013
Azeri President Ilham Aliyev's statements on the readiness to
"liberate" Nagorno-Karabakh are intended for the home audience,
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharian said.
"Those who are really ready to take such steps will not declare
this every day. These words are targeted at the domestic viewer,"
Kocharian told journalists.
Speaking while reviewing the troops at a military parade in Baku on
Wednesday, Aliyev said the Azerbaijani armed forces should be prepared
for operations to liberate the land occupied by Armenia.
"Azerbaijan is living in the state of war. The war is not over yet,
and only its first stage has ended. The Azerbaijani Army should be
prepared at any moment to liberate the occupied lands," Aliyev said.
Aliyev regretted that the negotiations with Armenia to peacefully
resolve the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh have not produced the desired
result so far, and so Azerbaijan has to beef up its military power due
to these conditions. He also insisted that not only Nagorno-Karabakh
and areas around it but also the contemporary territory of Armenia
were originally Azeri land.
