ARMENIAN TEAM WINS 18 MEDALS AT GEORGIA-HOSTED MARTIAL ARTS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The first open championship of Georgia on martial arts has ended. It
was organized by the Union of combat Taekwondo Federation of Georgia
and Georgian Federation of Sayokan Karate. It was the first such
tournament in the South Caucasus. Championship was held by Olympic
system, by K-1 rules in the age category of 6-25 years.
Georgian, Azerbaijani and Armenian teams participated in the
championship. Among 23 Armenian fighters won 6 gold, 6 silver, and
6 bronze medals. Thus, the Armenian national Aykikendo Karate team
took first place in the overall standings.
All six fighters, who took the first place in the tournament, will
take part in the Eurasian championship on contact martial arts.
