AZERBAIJAN WILL BREAK ITS TEETH IN KARABAKH - GREEK UNION OF ARMENIA LEADER
February 28, 2013 | 04:28
YEREVAN. - The Nagorno-Karabakh issue remains unresolved solely for
Azerbaijan; there is no such matter for Armenia or Karabakh, stated
Eduard Polatov, a Karabakh war veteran and chairman of the Union of
Greeks of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, in an interview with Armenian
News-NEWS.am.
"Armenia and Karabakh have no issues with Azerbaijan; it is Azerbaijan
that has an issue. If official Baku were prudent, it would just keep
its statehood," he noted, and added that Armenia should have recognized
the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) a long ago.
"It is a separate state, where there is more democracy than [here]
at us, in Armenia, and in the entire South Caucasus," the Karabakh
war veteran maintained.
To the question as to whether NKR's recognition would result in a
resumption of military operations, Polatov responded by saying that
had Azerbaijan been even a slightest bit confident in its victory,
it would have resorted to aggression a long time ago.
"Azerbaijan will break its teeth in Karabakh because, by attacking
Karabakh, it will be defeated in the war once again, and it will lose
its statehood altogether," Eduard Polatov concluded.
