RAFFI AND "YEREVAN POLITICAL CULTURE"

The technologies Raffi Hovannisian has been using before and after
elections is new and unusual in Armenia. But it is attractive right
because of its unusualness because it brings kindness and love. It
does not spread evilness, hatred and violence.
Raffi is in constant dialogue with everyone. He tries to bring everyone
to the plane of freedom, constructiveness and responsibility.
He asks people whether they are ready for a long fight. Many may think
that so Raffi refuses responsibility. Even if so, it is the same. The
important is that people feel responsible for their destiny. A person
who assumes responsibility is ready to "move mountains".
None of the Armenian oppositions has ever done this step; they have
never given the possibility to people to assume responsibility.
Oppositions have always told people to follow them and their decisions,
since they know what to do. The same is about the government. It
is easy to keep positions this way since a person deprived of
responsibility can't be free in their thoughts and actions. Freedom
means responsibility.
In case of Raffi Hovannisian, the traditional technology of oppositions
has changed. Raffi keeps stressing that there is no party and no
leader, but only citizens who should assume responsibility for the
country and their destiny.
The second important thing is that he is taking his "hello" to
the regions. Armenian regions have always been the "black hole"
for the oppositions and the authorities: they were considered a
fertile environment to rig elections for the authorities, and for the
opposition - ignored territories with "illiterate and sold population".
Raffi understands that the population of regions with their thinking
and values is higher than the "literates" and the lumpen groups of
the capital, who come from regions but become lumpen with the help
of those literate in Yerevan. People of Armenian regions are able
to assume responsibility. Raffi's recent trips to Armenian regions
proved that he is right and that the main human and political capital
of Armenia is in the regions.
The political culture of Yerevan is the main problem not only for Raffi
but for Armenia. This culture rules out kindness and constructiveness,
but it is based on rough stereotypes, idolatry, escape from reality
and exclusion of anything new. This culture accepts the sole authority
of the leader and excludes any other opinion or leader. This culture
has always been powerless towards the reality and this powerlessness
has been compensated with the help of strong system of excuses.
Raffi is already clashing with the destructions of the "Yerevan
political culture" in media field and social networks. But so far,
he has been able not to accept it. It is very difficult because this
"culture" is able to influence even people with high intellectual
features.
The revolution of hello is a winning technology and the only obstacle
to it is the Yerevan political culture, which has always been the
support of all authorities.
