David Ghoogasian Appointed Mesrobian Armenian School Principal

David Ghoogasian leads a seminar last year sponsored by the Board of Regents
GLENDALE - The Board of Regents of the Prelacy Armenian Schools
announced the appointment of David Ghoogasian as the new principal of
Mesrobian Armenian School. A proud graduate of Armenian Mesrobian
School, Ghoogasian, served as the Principal of his alma mater from
1991-1999.
His educational/professional background includes a degree in
psychology as well as certificates from the Principals Academy and the
Curriculum and Instructional Leaders Academy. Ghoogasian is an
educational consultant/trainer and school improvement facilitator, who
has a rich background in education, which includes teaching,
counseling, administration, and professional development. He trains
and teaches parents, students, and educators with backgrounds ranging
from early childhood education through college and university
instruction. He is a sought-after speaker and consultant, who presents
and trains nationally and internationally for public, private, and
independent schools, school organizations, school districts,
institutions of higher learning, conferences, and the corporate world.
He also teaches through education extension programs for the
University of California, where he is a recipient of the
`Distinguished Instructor Award' and the `Dean's Outstanding Service
Award' from UCI Education Extension.
Ghoogasian is a member of the Gift and Talented Education (GATE) and
Professional Teaching certificate program advisory boards at the
University of California, Irvine, Education Extension. He has served
on visiting committees for the Western Association of Schools and
Colleges, Accrediting Commission for Schools and has been a member of
the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) and
the California Association for the Gifted (CAG).
`The Prelacy Armenian Schools and specifically Mesrobian Armenian
School is a familiar environment for David Ghoogasian. For many years,
Ghoogasian has been involved with our schools, in particular Mesrobian
Armenian School and he has been an active member of the Armenian
American community. We have great confidence in Ghoogasian's abilities
and we are certain that he will be able to further advance the
educational growth of our students at Mesrobian Armenian School. His
knowledge and the dedication to the Armenian community, coupled with
his extensive educational background makes him a unique candidate for
the position. We strongly believe that with the cooperation and
collaboration of the faculty, the School Board, and local and school
committees, Ghoogasian will succeed in continuing the advancement of
Mesrobian Armenian School. We are grateful to have him back at
