ANTELIAS, Lebanon - His Holiness Aram I sent a letter of
congratulations to Nicos Anastasiades, the new President-of Cyprus.
In his letter, the Catholicos wrote, `Our churches share identical
histories, similar traditions and common values. Both our churches and
people advocate justice and human rights. The challenges addressed to
our people and the world urge us to strengthen our cooperation and
express forcefully our common commitments.
`Referring to the Armenian community in Cyprus, Catholicos Aram wrote,
`The members of our community in Cyprus are loyal citizens and they do
their utmost to contribute to the development and prosperity of the
island.'
