Azerbaijanis continue their street diplomacy, which is devoid of logic
and civilized behavior, says Ruben Safrastyan, Director of the
Oriental Studies Institute of Armenian National Academy of Sciences.
During a Cairo-hosted conference devoted to Armenians' contribution to
the world civilization an Azerbaijani student asked Armenian
Ambassador to Egypt Armen Melkonyan a question about the Khojalu
events.
"Our ambassador replied in a civilized way and gave a well-reasoned
response and I am confident that Arab students understood that
Azerbaijanis were again attempting to distort the facts and frustrate
the conference," said Karen Khachatryan, Deputy Director of the
Institute.
Mr Safrastyan thinks that Armenians should toughen up their civilized struggle.
"We should not only try to defend ourselves, but we should also try to
counterattack in an attempt to show the reality and our innocence. It
is equally important that everything be scientifically grounded and
presented in due order," he said.
