YEREVAN. - Strong friendly relations are established between Armenia
and Japan, stated Keisuke Yamagishi, the First Deputy Head of Mission
of the Japan Embassy in Armenia.
The Embassy representative, however, recorded with regret that Japan
does not have an embassy directly in Armenia's capital city Yerevan,
since the respective Japanese diplomatic residence is in Moscow, but
expressed a hope that it will be founded in Yerevan in a foreseeable
future.
Highly appreciating the activities by the `Khikari'
Armenian-JapaneseCulturalCenter, the diplomat noted that the program,
which was signed on Saturday, has great significance for the two
parties.
`I hope the Center will expand operations and carry out new projects,'
Yamagishi noted.
He also recalled that Japanese ikebana (formal flower arrangement)
arrangement and tea ceremony mastery classes are being taught these
days in Yerevan.
