YEREVAN. - As a US citizen, Regional Studies Center Director, political
analyst Richard Giragosian is disappointed by US President Barack
Obama's recent message that was addressed to Armenian President
Serzh Sargsyan, Giragosian himself noted during a press conference
on Tuesday.
"If you read Obama's entire message, [you will see that] it is not a
full congratulations to President Serzh Sargsyan; the problems that
existed in this [Armenian presidential] election [that was conducted
on February 18] are recalled in it. President Obama was not even
aware that such letter was sent. In other words, the president of
Mozambique likewise receives a similar letter," he noted.
Giragosian also stressed that the Armenians have a big problem to
solve, and they should be tired of waiting for what Russian President
Vladimir Putin, or President Obama say, and that Armenia's democracy
should be compared with Armenian standards.
