    SERPENTINES OF THE ARARAT PROVINCE HAVE BEEN CLOSED

    YEREVAN, MARCH 7, ARMENPRESS. All the Armenian highways are
    mainly passable. Rime covered certain parts of the Armenian
    highways. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of
    Armenia informed "Armenpress" that the Selim Pass, Berd-Chambarak
    highway, Amasia-Tsoghamarg highway in the Shirak Province and
    Upper Getashen-Madina alongside with Akhperadzor-Makenis highway in
    the Gegharkunik province have been closed by 09.00, March 7. The
    serpentines in the village of Tigranashen in the Ararat Province,
    Sotk-Karvachar highway in the Gegharkunik Province and Amasia-Kaps
    highway in the Shirak Province have become almost impassable.

    In accordance with the information of the Department of Emergency
    Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the
    Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open only for vehicles having more than
    30 seats in case of using tyre chains.

    In order to secure the traffic the highways are being worked out. The
    cleaning of the roads is in progress.

    The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia advises
    all the drivers to abstain from traveling via the abovementioned
    highways.
