Heritage party faction head Ruben Hakobyan is a witness in a criminal
case filed by the Special Investigative Services over the incident in
Gyumri's 34/36 polling station with his and Republican party member
Sukias Avetisyan's engagement. The Republican head of the commission
has complained against Hakobyan.
Speaking to Tert.am, Hakobyan said, `Realizing that his being in the
polling station is illegal he told the head of the commission to
complain against me, just at my presence. Sukias Avetisyan behaved
incorrectly and received adequate response,' Ruben Hakobyan said.
The MP added that because of busy schedule he did not visited the
Special Investigative Services, but an official visited him in the NA.
On the election day a report was received about the incident. Speaking
to Tert.am that time, Hakobyan said the cause of the dispute was the
behavior of the observers of Democratic Academy who hindered the
election process, were calling somewhere while he was trying to
prevent it but Sukias Avetisyan appeared after which the quarrel
continued on higher tones.
Hakobyan said he was trying to divert the attention from the
circumstance that he had no right to be there. `It was he who should
be held accountable,' Hakobyan said.
