`Women rally' kicked off in the Yerevan Liberty Square. Heritage party
leader's spouse Armenuhi Hovannisian, editor of Yes magazine Ani
Kochar, and others are delivering speeches.
Addressing the gathered, head of the Heritage party's youth wing
Stepan Hasan Jalayan congratulated the women on the International
Women's Day wishing that the citizens they gave birth to become the
citizens of strong, developing Armenia.
He said everyone knows the social condition of the country, while the
state officials are stating on different occasions that everything is
normal and that the country has entered a development phase.
`This all are empty, illogical words. To prove what I say, I will base
my words on 2012 social-economic statistical data. In 2008 when Serzh
Sargsyan was nominated he promised us that in 2012 Armenia would have
17% unemployment rate while today it makes 40-45%, the pension would
be 40,000 drams, while today average pension is 28,000. He promised
that we would have 12% poverty rate while it is more than 35%.
Moreover, some 125,000 people are undernourished here. This is the
real picture of Armenia, while a group of people are living in awful
luxury. Have they acquired it by their work? No, they acquired it by
violating our rights,' he said.
He urged all be strong, resolute and united.
