Azerbaijani MP killed in a car crash

YEREVAN, MARCH 8, ARMENPRESS: The day before the Azerbaijani MP,
60-year-old Hikmet Atayev was killed in a car crash. The accident
occurred in the Balakan district at about 10.00 pm.
As reports Armenpress, referring to `AzeriPress', Atayev and his son
were going home, when the car VAZ 2106 controlled by Atayev collided
with a car VAZ 21015. Atayev died on the spot, while his son was
lightly wounded.
Atayev's son studies in Georgia and the late MP, taking him at the
border, was driving home in the Zagatala district.
Atayev was twice elected deputy of the Parliament of Azerbaijan from
the 113th electoral district in Zagatala - in 2006 and 2010. Prior to
that, he served as head of the Town Hall, and previously worked as a
surgeon in the district hospital.
