Heritage party Chairman Raffi Hovannisian held a meeting with
journalists on Monday.
He commented on his decision to go on a hunger strike and informed
the journalists of his further steps.
"No one, no foreign president can snatch our victory from us," Mr
Hovannisian said.
He hopes that Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan and Catholicos of All
Armenians Garegin II will not allow a false inauguration. Otherwise,
they will have to do it "over my dead body."
"I am speaking of myself. As to other political figures and members
of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), corrupt officials - they
are all speaking of others' dead bodies, October 27 and March 1. This
is the difference," Mr Hovannisian said.
The victorious people will not allow "our state, our square and our
city to become a dead body."
"If the people won on February 18, it is the authorities that have
fears, practice lies and frauds," Mr Hovannisian said.
He intends to wait for Serzh Sargsyan's refusal to accept the post
of Armenia's president until April 9. And a new Armenia will be born
after April 9.
"The people will prove power belongs to them," he said.
According to him, he is always open to dialogue - no matter he
will be stoned or his family pressed. To substantiate, he reminded
the journalists that he, on his own will, visited the Armenian
presidential residence to represent people's interests. However,
his demands were rejected.
At 5:00pm, on Tuesday, Mr Hovannisian will make a brief statement
and answer journalists' questions. "I am quite serious about what
I say. I believe everyone knows about it. So we are going to fight
until final victory," he said.
