YEREVAN. - As agricultural product, Armenia formally imports solely
newly-hatched chickens from Turkey, the Agriculture Ministry's State
Service on Food Safety Public Relations Department Head Babken Pipoyan
told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
As for the agricultural products being imported from Georgia, these
products undergo mandatory certification. But Pipoyan did not rule
out that if a product comes from Georgia without a certificate,
it can be processed in the Armenian border as a product "without a
country of origin."
Separately, the Armenian State Revenue Committee informed Armenian
News-NEWS.am that there is no ban on importing food to Armenia,
and the only condition is that the food must have a certificate.
