ARMENIAN, RUSSIAN PRESIDENTS MEET IN MOSCOW

Russian President Vladimir Putin received Armenian President Serzh
Sargsyan. The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation,
noting steady development of cooperation in all spheres.
Vladimir Putin congratulated his Armenian counterpart on victory in
the February 18 presidential election.
~SWe have special relations with Armenia. This is well known in
both Armenia and Russia. On the whole, the relations are developing
successfully, despite certain difficulties in world economy. The
commodity turnover grew by more than 20% last year. I~Rm pleased
to note that Russia remains the first trade partner of Armenia,~T
Vladimir Putin said.
~SOur relations in the political field are no less active. We cooperate
almost on all levels and in all directions. All this creates good
prerequisites for the reinforcement of our relations, first of all
between people and in the humanitarian sphere,~T he added.
Thanking for the invitation and congratulations, Armenian President
Serzh Sargsyan said ~Sit~Rs quite natural that I~Rm paying my first
foreign visit to Russia after re-election.~T ~SRussia is our strategic
partner, our ally,~T he said.
