AIR DEFENSE UNITS OF THE RUSSIAN BASE IN ARMENIA STARTED PREPARATION FOR EXERCISES WITH COMBAT FIRING PRACTICE

Combat crews of air defense and air defense missile units of the
Russian military base stationed on the territory of Armenia started
training in parrying of attacks of single and group air targets of
the conventional enemy in the framework of preparation for tactical
special exercises. More than 100 servicemen and a few tens of units of
military hardware participate in the exercises. The tactical special
exercises with combat and exam firing practice, as well as exercises
with combat firing practice of air defense units of the military base
will take place at the beginning of April at Alagyaz training range
(Armenia) and at inter-branch training range Kapustin Yar (Astrakhan
Region). In training year 2012, personnel of the air defense units
of the Russian military base in Armenia had more than 800 exercises
and about 150 combat and exam firing exercises.
