KHOSROV RESERVE LAUNCHES FIGHT AGAINST FISH POACHING

Over the past month tough inspections have been carried out in Khor
Virap partial reserve, as the number of illegal hunting and fishing
cases is currently increasing during this season.
The press service of the Nature Protection Ministry reports that in
the course of the inspections, 5 fishing nets and 17 fishing rods have
been seized in the territory of the partial reserve (50 hectares). To
prevent hunting in the partial reserve, "no entry" signs have been
set up in the area.
To recall, in late Sept 2012 the green activists uploaded a video
demonstrating the traces of poaching in Khosrov reserve. Afterwards
by the decision of the Nature Protection Minister, the director and
other employees of the reserve were dismissed.
