ARMENIAN SECURITY COUNCIL HEAD MEETS WITH NEW INDIAN AMBASSADOR

YEREVAN. - Armenia's National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur
Baghdasaryan on Wednesday received India's newly appointed Ambassador
to Armenia, Suresh Babu.
Baghdasaryan congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and
wished him success during his mission in Armenia, NSC press service
informs. He also expressed a hope that relations between the two
countries will develop further during the Indian ambassador's term
in office.
He noted that Armenian-Indian ties have a historical past, and he
underscored the need to deepen these ties. The NSC chief noted that
the level of political and economic cooperation between both countries
is at a very high level, and stressed that relations between Armenia
and India as well as their harmony within international organizations
contribute to the cooperation between the two states.
Baghdasaryan recorded that his meeting-along the lines of his trip to
India-with the country's National Security Secretary, and the ongoing
discourse, have given a new impetus to Armenian-Indian cooperation
in the security sector.
The interlocutors highlighted the necessity to deepen cooperation
between the security councils of Armenia and India.
Baghdasaryan underscored his Indian counterpart's return visit to
Armenia, during which a memorandum of cooperation will be signed
between the two agencies.
In his turn, Ambassador Babu likewise gave a high assessment to the
relations between the two countries, and stressed that India, too,
stands ready to stimulate cooperation and outline new avenues for
interaction.
Arthur Baghdasaryan and Suresh Babu also discussed the ways for
further deepening collaboration between Armenia and India in several
other domains.
