YEREVAN. - The aircraft of Armavia Airline Company--which is Armenia's
national carrier--has no technical problems. The Beirut airport in
Lebanon does not accept the plane unlawfully, Armavia press service
told Armenian News-NEWS.am, commenting on the current situation at
the airport.
"The plane has passed through the o-chek maintenance procedure and had
just returned from abroad. Beirut is not accepting the Armavia plane
unlawfully, and the information on a technical malfunction is false.
At present, the Armenian General Department of Civil Aviation is
working on resolving the matter, and Armavia hopes that the plane will
soon take off. The company will demand explanations from the Lebanese
party, in connection with the unlawful decision," the respective
statement reads.
To note, the aforesaid aircraft was scheduled to fly back to Armenian
capital city Yerevan on Tuesday evening, but its departure was
postponed until Wednesday 1:30pm at first and, subsequently, until
3pm, and, still, there is no clear information as to when the plane
will actually take off from Lebanon.
Most of the passengers of this flight were forced to spend the night
at Beirut airport.
