In the framework of his working visit to Belgium, Serzh Sargsyan
attended on March 14 the summit of the European People's Party (EPP),
which focused on the political situation in Europe, regulation of
the EU financial and economic problems as well as prospects of the
cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Partnership program.

Serzh Sargsyan made a statement in which he spoke about the February
18 presidential elections in Armenia, post-election processes, reform
process in Armenia as well as about the cooperation in the framework
of the Eastern Partnership program and forthcoming steps. In his
statement, the Armenian leader reiterated Armenia's determination to
carry on with the political line of comprehensive reforms as well as
with the Eurointegration process which is a priority of the Armenian
foreign policy agenda. Speaking about abuse by some countries of
the Eastern Partnership of the European values and cooperation
objectives, Mr Sargsyan noted that Azerbaijan's "pick and choose"
policies regarding these values are unacceptable.

After the summit, the Serzh Sargsyan met with EPP President Wilfried
    Martens.

At the beginning of the meeting, Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude
personally to Wilfried Martens and the entire EPP family for the
support during the February 18 presidential election in Armenia,
as well as for Mr. Martens' cordial congratulatory letter after
the election and for the positive assessment on progress registered
    by Armenia.

The parties stressed the importance of deepening the party-to-party
cooperation, including in the framework of the inter-parliamentary
    bodies.

The parties also spoke about regional issues.
