RAFFI HOVANNISIAN SPENDS NIGHT UNDER TENT-LIKE COVER

YEREVAN.- Former presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian spent a
night under a tent-like cover at Liberty Square, deputy chairman of
Heritage party Armen Martirosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The night passed calmly without any incidents, he said. Martirosyan
noted they had applied to the municipality with a request to pitch
a tent on grass-covered area, and the request is being considered.
Earlier Hovannisian was not allowed to pitch tent in Liberty Square
which is considered cultural complex.
Armenia's opposition Heritage Party leader, former FM Raffi Hovannisian
was declared runner-up to the winner, incumbent President Serzh
Sargsyan, as a result of the presidential election that was conducted
on February 1. He claims to be the real winner in the vote and declared
a hunger strike on March 10 at capital city Yerevan's Liberty Square.
