Egypt: Awqaf Minister - Heavenly Religions Call for Peaceful Coexistence

Awqaf Minister Talaat Afifi stressed that all heavenly religions urge
believers for peaceful coexistence and solidarity.
Afifi made the remark during his meeting Thursday 14/03/2013 with
Armenian ambassador in Cairo Armen Melkonian along with the bishop of
Armenian Catholic Church.
During the meeting, Afifi stressed that Islam came for the best
interest of the human being, reiterating that the divine religions
prohibit aggression against people.
The Armenian ambassador, for his part, highlighted the strong
relations binding the two countries, saying that Egypt was at the
forefront of countries which recognized the independence of Armenia in
1915.
