Aram Manukyan, an MP from the opposition bloc Armenian National
Congress (ANC), stated in parliament on Tuesday that the parliamentary
majority is doing its utmost to prevent an exchange of views in
parliament.
Moreover, the majority spares no efforts to increase the number of
businessmen MPs.
"The National Assembly had better discuss the drawbacks of elections.
If this is not the right place to discuss election problems, we will
do it at international organizations and at rallies," the MP said.
The parliament's refusing to consider the issue is not new for Mr
Manukyan. "We proposed reforming the election law, but you rejected
our proposal. Now we are applying to the Constitutional Court, and
you are going to reject," Mr Manukyan said.
"In this case, we are just stating the official number of twenty
millionaire businessmen sitting here. As Facebook quotes say 'What
have you come here for?'"
