ID CARDS SUBSTITUTE PASSPORTS AND THERE IS NO NEED TO DEMAND PASSPORTS FROM CITIZENS: TIGRAN SARGSYAN
12:15, 21 March, 2013
YEREVAN, MARCH 21, ARMENPRESS. All the organizations of Armenia
must work with ID cards and serve citizens without demanding their
passports. As reports "Armenpress" during the March 21 session of
the Government of the Republic of Armenia the Prime Minister of the
Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan reminded that obligatory pension
insurance system will be in force in Armenia starting from January
1, 2014 and the citizens must check out their accounts solely via
ID cards.
Among other things the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia
noted: "Today people address us questions whether that card enables
the citizens to enjoy various services and if the passport must
be demanded from the citizens or not. We have received a number of
complaints stating that besides the ID cards, people are being obliged
to introduce passports as well in certain organizations. This does
not meet the demands of our legislation."
