ARMENIA TO DEVELOP RELATIONS WITH RUSSIA, EU - SARGSYAN

    Interfax, Russia
    March 19, 2013

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said Armenia will continue its
participation in the integration processes with Russia and Europe.

"How can we link our military security issues with the CSTO and Russia
while at the same time linking our economic or political future with a
different country or union? Of course not. We will continue integration
processes with European structures as well. That was the purpose of
my recent visit to Brussels," Sargsyan told local television channels
    on Monday.

"Our intentions are honest. We want our country to develop and use
the assistance of the Customs Union, Eurasian Union and European
Union in this process," he said.

Sargsyan said Russia is not making Armenia become a member of the
Customs Union. "Don't believe those who say that. No one is making
us do that. I can say the following: members of the Customs Union
currently do not wish to admit anyone in this union, at least I
haven't seen such a wish," Sargsyan said.

Sargsyan also said the EU countries are expected to ratify the
agreement easing the visa regime with Armenia by June 1, and the
process of signing an agreement on a free trade zone is nearing
    completion.

"I hope the agreement will be signed this year. An EU delegation will
arrive in Yerevan this week to complete the remaining part of the
Association Agreement. In addition, the head of the Eurasian Economic
Commission collegium, with which the Armenian government is likely
to sign a memorandum of cooperation, will visit Armenia in April,"
    Sargsyan said.
