KARABAKH PRESIDENT INTRODUCES NEW CHIEF OF POLICE

STEPANAKERT.- President of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan
signed a decree on Monday dismissing Police Major-General Robert
Shaferyan from the post of head of the Police under the NKR Cabinet
of Ministers.
On the same day the President signed another decree appointing
Major-General Kamo Aghajanyan to the post of chief of police.
Shaferyan was appointed deputy secretary of NKR Security Council.
On Tuesday President Sahakyan introduced the newly appointed police
chief to the servicemen.
Bako Sahakyan gave appraisal of Shaferyan's contribution to development
of the system, expressing gratitude for his long-term service.
Introducing the newly appointed head of the police, Sahakyan noted
that his experience will allow making police work more effective.
