YEREVAN. - If Armenia's Premier Tigran Sargsyan had the freedom to
act, if he were independent of the oligarchic system that is created,
he may continue in office. National Assembly opposition Heritage
Faction MP, opposition Free Democrats Party member, and former FM
Alexander Arzumanyan stated this during a press conference on Thursday.
In Arzumanyan's view, PM Sargsyan has quite liberal methods and he
should be allowed to carry out reforms and, in this case, the person
is not significant; it is the system that is incorrect.
"There is no political will to carry out reforms [in the country].
Whatever is done is being done with a push by the partners. If the
mechanism is operating incorrectly, changing the person does not
change anything," he said.
Alexander Arzumanyan also noted that he is neutral with respect to
changing the PM of Armenia.
